Overview
Ms. Pac-Man is a 1982 maze video game developed by General Computer Corporation (GCC) and published by Midway Manufacturing for arcades. It is a sequel to Pac-Man (1980) and the first entry in the series not to be made by Namco. Controlling the title character, Pac-Man's wife, players are tasked with eating all of the pellets in an enclosed maze while avoiding four colored ghosts; eating the larger "power pellets" (also called energizers) turns the ghosts blue and makes them flee, allowing players to eat them for extra points. The gameplay is very similar to that of the original Pac-Man, with players earning points by eating pellets and losing a life upon contact with a ghost, bonus fruits that grant increasing point values appearing twice per round, and as rounds progress, the game speed increases while the duration of ghost vulnerability from energizers generally lessens, eventually stopping altogether.
