Battle Hymn: The Battle of Gettysburg

Overview

Battle Hymn: The Battle of Gettysburg is a wartime simulation game based on the Battle of Gettysburg from the Civil War.

Being one of the later titles for Coco, it has full PMODE 4 graphics and color, some sound effects in machine language and a rare save/resume game feature, even on cassette.

You control General Lee's army, starting on the second day of the battle, with the player trying to accomplish 5 objectives to win. At any time, you can hit keys to show direction that enemy troops are facing (showing by a number), and field of fire (firing range), shown by '+' symbols. One of the earliest game to take into consideration stamina/fatigue of the troops not resting or in route.
