Overview
Released in July 1985, Clown is a classic solid-state pinball machine from the Italian manufacturer Zaccaria. Known for its vibrant, circus-themed aesthetics and a particularly "scary" clown depiction on the backglass, it represents the final work of renowned artist Lorenzo Rimondini for the company.
The central attraction is a "roving" clown target that moves horizontally across the playfield. Players can trigger this by shooting three large red drop targets.
The layout includes two flippers, three pop bumpers, a 4-bank drop target set, and three single drop targets. It also features a rollunder spinner and large bonus multipliers reaching up to 80x.
The game uses digital sound but notably lacks a speech board. Like many Zaccaria machines of its era, it is praised for its high-quality "stellar" clearcoat on the playfield.
