Expressway

Overview

Expressway is an electro-mechanical pinball machine released by Bally Manufacturing in 1971, designed by Ted Zale with artwork by Christian Marche. The game has a travel and transportation theme, featuring cars and cityscapes.

The table features two flippers, three pop bumpers, six mushroom bumpers, two slingshots, two kick-out holes, a left-side kickback lane, and an up-post between flippers.

The machine had a confirmed production run of 1,555 units.

Notes: There are two different versions of the backglass for this table. The differences are in the colors of the large rings and the color of the Ball In Play sign. The two versions are arbitrarily numbered here:

Version #1: The rings, starting with the outermost one, are colored green-white-red. The Ball In Play sign is orange in color. The flyer appears to be this version.

Version #2: The outermost ring is not black, but a deep red/purple, almost black, followed by red then yellow. The Ball In Play sign is yellow.
