Overview
Gottlieb's New York pinball table is a 2-player add-a-ball variant of the popular Spirit of '76 (1975), released to commemorate the legalization of pinball in NYC following Roger Sharpe's famous demonstration.
Designed by Wayne Neyens, the game features high-contrast artwork highlighting American pioneers and astronaut figures, reflecting the US Bicentennial celebration. The playfield features drop targets (1776/1976) and a central saucer, offering a challenging, slow-paced EM (electromechanical) game.
While Spirit of '76 had a massive production run of over 10,000 units, New York is a much rarer variant, with only 300 units produced.
