Overview
Vortex was released in January 1983 by Taito do Brasil, the Brazilian division of the Japanese company Taito. It is a rare solid-state electronic game, with an estimated production of only a few hundred to a thousand units, and fewer than 100 believed to still exist today.
Vortex is well-known in the pinball community as a clone of the 1980 Williams machine, Blackout. It features a nearly identical playfield layout and ruleset.
