Overview
Yukon, released by Williams in 1971, is a single-player electro-mechanical game designed by Norm Clark with artwork by Christian Marche. Notable for its Canadian gold rush theme featuring imagery of prospectors, bears, and the rugged wilderness.
It features two flippers, five pop bumpers, and three kick-out holes. The table's standout feature is a set of three mechanical reels located near the top of the playfield, similar to a slot machine. These reels award up to three balls for winning combinations.
Approximately 730 units of the standard Yukon were produced. A variation called Yukon Special was produced specifically for the Italian market, featuring numbers on the reels instead of symbols to comply with strict anti-gambling laws. Approximately 200 units of the Yukon Special were produced, though some sources indicate higher.
There were also two sister machines featuring the same design: Klondike, the replay version of Yukon, and Gold Rush, the four player replay version.
