Alpha One

Alpha One is a side-scrolling shooter. The player controls a space ship which moves horizontally through a narrow corridor while shooting enemies. There are two important bars to fill: the pow bar fills up by picking up pow symbols and rewards a weapon upgrade when full. The shield icon also fills with icons and depletes when being hit - but managing to fill it up completely earns an extra life. Shield energy can also be spent to unleash a powerful bomb. Another collectible are power orbs; when many of them are collected in a row, the player receives extra points for the high-score.

Not to be confused with Alpha-1 (a prototype version of Atari's Major Havoc).
