Overview
Released by Mattel Electronics in 1978, Mattel Electronic Hockey (Model 2946) is a landmark handheld electronic game that used red LED blips to simulate an ice hockey rink. Following the massive success of their 1977 Football game, Hockey introduced true 1- or 2-player action and multi-directional movement to the portable sports gaming craze of the late 1970s.
The object of the game is to outscore your opponent before the 3-period clock runs out.
