Overview
Alien Command is a rare, unique hybrid electro-mechanical and video redemption arcade game released by Jaleco in 1990 (with wider distribution stretching into 1993). Blending real physical targets with digital gameplay, it stands out for its unique "optical gun" setup that fires actual visible laser beams at moving parts inside a massive cabinet.
Unlike common sci-fi shooters from the era that relied purely on a CRT monitor, Alien Command functions as a mechanical gallery game with video elements. It is historically notable as a physical spin-off of Jaleco’s 1991 scrolling shoot-'em-up, E.D.F. Earth Defense Force.
