Overview
Travel through time in this classic pinball table. Shift between past, present and future - each era brings unique challenges, scoring modes and excitement. Fast paced gameplay, retro visuals and timeless gamplay awaits!
Released in January 1983, Time Machine is a standout "Generation 2" solid-state pinball table from the Italian manufacturer Zaccaria. It is widely celebrated for its innovative mechanical "time travel" gimmick and striking visuals.
The artwork blends science fiction tropes, featuring a "bald scientist," futuristic silver towers, and prehistoric elements. The game casts the player as the assistant to the unnamed scientist, who has invented a Time Machine. The backglass incorporates neon lighting and an infinity mirror effect in the center, which was highly advanced for 1983.
The table features a unique "transforming" playfield that shifts the game between two distinct eras:
● The Future: The game begins in this era. The main playfield features a raised circular platform containing three pop bumpers. Players aim for specific standup targets (A-B-C-D-E-F) to build the "Future Bonus".
● The Past: Entering the Time Hole saucer triggers the "Time Machine." The circular platform retracts into the table, and the pop bumpers disappear below the surface. In this mode, players must hit a row of seven numbered targets at the back of the table to build the "Past Bonus" and light the Green Special.
Approximately 2,400 units were manufactured. Due to its unique custom parts (like the moving platform and 3D backglass), original machines are difficult to find in working condition and hard to restore.
