Overview
Metal Gear Online was released as the multiplayer component to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, but with a standalone release for Japan. Up to 16 players can play in a variety of modes that are staple to the online shooter genre, like Capture and Team Deathmatch. The original servers shut down on June 12, 2012, but the mode has been revived to be playable on both PS3 and on PC via emulators thanks to the https://savemgo.com/ & https://mgo2pc.com/ projects.
