Steins;Gate: Variant Space Octet (Steins;Gate: Henikuukan no Octet, Steins;Gate 8-Bit) is a text adventure-styled visual novel that was released on October 28, 2011 for Windows. The game's retro design mimics that of various text adventure games released during the 8-bit PC era.

The story is non-canonical, and takes place after the true ending of the Steins;Gate visual novel. The goal of the game is to retrieve the IBN5100 in Akihabara and stop the mysterious person with the alias “Knight-hart” from altering the Steins;Gate time-line in the future.
