Hoyle Slots and Video Poker

Overview

Hoyle Slots & Video Poker is a collection of single player, mouse/keyboard controlled, casino gaming machines comprising slot machines, video poker machines video slot machines and a horse racing game. The player starts with a stake, the default is $5000 but this can be changed. When playing they insert cash into a machine by clicking on the cash slot, after that every spin reduces the amount invested and when it's all gone the machine takes money from the player's remaining cash pot. Should a player win then their winnings are added to their machine credits. The player may cash out at any time. The game keeps a record of where the player has won/lost money. When a player runs out of cash the game offers to reset their account and erase all statistics. Although only one player can play at a time the game does cater for multiple player identities The following slot machines are available; Alien Invasion, All Stars, Bug Out, Cover the Spread,Diamond Frenzy, Double Diamond Jackpot, Double Red White & Blue, Flying High, Funny Money, Gone Fishin', Hoyle Flush, Jurassic, Monsters, Progressive, Red Cherry, Red White & Blue, Safari, Shoes, Sweet Success, Triple Diamond. Triple Play, Wild Peppers. They are all multi coin machines with a single pay-out line, apart from Progressive which has three, that can be played as either a 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, $1, $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, $500, or a $1000 machine. so, for example, on a $1000 three coin machine betting the maximum bet per spin will cost $3000. The player cannot change the stakes mid-game, they must cash out and start again with on the higher setting These are the video poker machines; Jacks or Better machines : Easy Money, Jacks Back & Crawdad; Joker Poker machines: Joker Poker & Joker's Wild; Deuces Wild machines: Wild Country, Born 2 Be Wild, Wild Thing & Wild Party; 10s or Better machines; A-10 Shun & Hang 10. Video Poker games can be played as $1, $5, $25 or $100 machines, again the player cannot change the stake mid-game. Each machine has different characteristics, for example Hang 10 has a payout rate of 95% with good payouts for the Full House and Straight, but a low payout for Two Pairs. The highest payout rate is 100%, the lowest is 92%. There are three Video Slots machines Break the Bank, Three Wishes and Road Pizza. They are all multi coin machines with a single win line and can be played in the same denominations as the classic slot machines. Once installed the game(s) can be played without the CD being in the player's drive, however the manual states that "some features of the game are disabled", among which are "the horse racing announcer's speech and several of the animations in the various games".
