Adventure in Humongous Cave

Overview

Adventure was the very first text adventure. It was started by Will Crowther, who wrote a Fortran simulation of the Bedquilt cave system. Don Woods added magic and puzzles, and in 1977 Adventure was released to the world.

Presented here is a version very close to the original + five other ports with various levels of modifications and extensions. The game also features a convenient interface and comes with a digital manual, including a walkthrough.
