Digger Simulator 2011 simulates the work of a digger vehicle user. The biggest difference to its predecessor are the additional locations, e.g. a city or an amusement park. There are 31 missions in which the player has to solve tasks involving digging or filling holes. In some cases it is important to not dig away too much ground or bringing said ground to a certain place like a flatbed truck. Solving a mission earns money which is reinvested into new machines which in turn unlock the associated missions. The first mission, the excavation site inherited from the predecessor, can be repeated indefinitely to grind more money. In addition to the mission tree, there is also a free playing mode in which the player can freely visit the locations and use the bought vehicles. The controls are restricted to a few buttons and has the player control the movement and the hydraulic systems - depending on the vehicle type - independently from each other. There are three camera perspectives: first-person (cockpit), third-person (behind the vehicle) and a fixed, zoomed-out position. Alternatively the camera can be manually adjusted.
