Overview

Snakeball is a modern remake of the classic Snake game. The core mechanics of the game are very simple; the player controls a character riding a hoversnake and needs to pick up balls on the playfield and throw them into the hole at the center of the stage to score points before time runs out. You need to watch out for the tails of other players and the game also features different types of weapons. The playfields have bumpers and other obstacles such as mines that need to be evaded. In singleplayer the three game modes are Snakeball (main mode), Challenge (navigate levels) and Ball Frenzy (remake of the classic gameplay). Multiplayer is supported locally through split-screen for four players and up to eight players online. The game mode for multiple players is Snakeball, with ten variations of the basic gameplay. There are 30 levels, sixteen riders to choose from, and the player can map his own face to a character using the PlayStation Eye peripheral.
