This adventure software is particularly easy to use. Inspired by interactive role-playing games, Ténèbres does not rely on any graphics, apart from a few rare presentation tables. Without implementing any game logic, Ténèbres relies more on luck than on reflection. Your quest actually consists of a series of questions concerning the direction to take, the objects to find, etc. So it's a matter of selecting your answer to cross the frog pond and reach, for example, the cursed cliff. If it is very easy to perish (one wrong move is enough), it will be wise to save the adventure as often as possible. For a classic scenario, the quest unfortunately relies too much on luck and chance. Logic will never make you guess the intentions of your future encounters and only the experience of a few sudden deaths will allow you to complete the three hours of play announced by the instructions. History suffers somewhat from this eternal uncertainty. We also regret that there is never any question of life points or experience points. Only the simplicity of the game and its handling explains its publication. An excellent way, undoubtedly, to launch the youngest on the road to adventure.
