Toyopet Outdoor World was a unique, Japan-exclusive 3DO software released in 1995, distributed solely to Toyota dealerships nationwide. It aimed to entertain children who accompanied their families to car dealerships, ensuring they wouldn't get bored while waiting. During that time, there was a trend to install various gaming facilities and video game consoles in car dealerships to entertain children. However, for car enthusiasts like the author, a mere dealership visit wasn't exciting enough. Hence, Toyota collaborated with Panasonic to install 3DO consoles in their dealerships, enhancing the experience. Toyopet Outdoor World served as a database filled with fun outdoor information to make driving Toyota's RV cars more enjoyable. The software included driving techniques for 4WD vehicles, information on camping sites nationwide, camping recipes, outdoor gear introductions, and details about outdoor sports like sports kites and paragliding. Essentially, playing the game aimed to showcase the experiences one could have with RV cars, subtly influencing children to favor them.
