Stage Door Canteen

Overview

Stage Door Canteen is a notable electro-mechanical pinball machine manufactured by D. Gottlieb & Co., released in November 1945. It holds a significant place in history as the first pinball machine produced by Gottlieb after the conclusion of World War II.

Designed by Harry Mabs, with artwork by Roy Parker focused on nightlife, dancing, music, and women, reflecting the era's social atmosphere. 7,500 units were produced.

Since the machine predates the invention of flippers, it relies on the player's initial launch and "nudging" the cabinet to influence the ball's path.
