Revolverheld

Overview

Revolverheld is a Dutch language Wild West style duel shoot 'em up for two players only. It was developed by John Vanderaart and published in the following:

- Commodore Dossier No 05 (Voorjaar 1986)

- Commodore Dossier No 10 (Voorjaar 1987)

Exclusively for Commodore Dossier, the now famous programmer John Vanderaart (Eindeloos, Hollanditis. De Sekt) wrote an arcade game. However, it is not just any shooter as tactical insight, dexterity and rapid reaction are necessary. Nice side effect is that Revolverheld 'must be played by two people. So against each other. Who draws his gun the fastest. He or me, who will it be?

Gunfighter is an action game for two persons. Each player needs a joystick and uses it to control a computer cowboy. These two Commodore 'John Wayne's' both pursue the same goal, namely *shooting the other'! Gunfighter looks simple at first. No beautiful pictures and fantastic sound effects a la Winter Games in this game. However, it does everything that such a 'shooting game' should be able to do and more...

Instead of using precious memory space for pretty pictures, Gunslinger focuses most of the attention on the game itself. A few examples: The game contains a number of game levels. As the score increases and the levels increase, a number of factors are subject to change. What about 'guide bullets' for which your hero is suddenly no longer invulnerable, or 'bang by candlelight' when the bullets are almost invisible?
