Overview
A Backpacking Adventure (also called A Backpack Adventure) is a 1-player adventure game for the TRS-80. Here is your chance to get away from it all for a while. You have the opportunity to visit the Snowy Mountain Wilderness Area, an area rich in natural beauty, abundant in wildlife, and far from any roads, buildings, or people. Your journey climaxes with a hike to the summit of Snowy Mountain. The objective is to have a safe and enjoyable backpacking trip. Your trip will last several days, so you will need to decide what items you will want to take along. Along the way, the player can fish, camp, sleep, eat, swim, build a camp fire, and more. The player must prepare for bears and adverse weather conditions. The player follows trails by typing the direction they wish to travel. The player must take precautions including safely putting out fires, wearing the appropriate clothes for weather, and bear-proofing their camp. At the end of the adventure, the player receives a score that rates the enjoyment and safety during the journey.
