Rommel at El Alamein: Battles for Egypt

Overview

Rommel at El Alamein is a computer wargame for multiple systems, covering World War II battles in Egypt from 30 June to 8 November 1942.

Players can control the Allied and/or German sides, or the computer can take on one or both roles. The game is text-only, and originally came with a board and physical pieces to allow the player to keep track of the location of theirs and enemy units. Each turn, the player has access to the intelligence menu, where they can see a list of currently held territory, gains, and losses. This menu also includes weather forecast, player and enemy strength, available supply, and recent losses. The player can allocate supplies and set movement orders for individual units including: hold, move, and attack.

Game time is divided into morning, afternoon, and evening each day of play. Games can be saved in progress, and loaded at a later date.
