Overview

Sir Fred: El Remake is a fan-made update to the classic platform-adventure game from Spain. As in the original, the player has to guide a chubby, middle-aged knight through the castle of Baron Beni-Gómez to rescue the kidnapped princess. The rooms are filled with traps, dangerous animals and guards that must be dealt with before proceeding to the next screen. As in Dizzy and other games of that era, the main character can collect objects and carry up to four in the inventory at the bottom of the screen. Sir Fred can equip swords and longbows to engage the enemy, and use other tools to solve environment puzzles. Besides the expected improvements in graphics, controls and sound, the remake adds four save slots to record progress at any time. The control keys can be configured on the main menu, along with optional graphic effects like shadows, transparency and soft lightning that may impact performance on older computers. The menu language can be set to English or Spanish.
