Global Chess

This board game variant, created by David M. Moorman and published in Loadstar #123 was published in 1994. This two-player game of chess puts you on a spherical board with twice as many pieces. Watch your back! Played on a 16x8 board with wrap-around east/west movement. Each side has 32 pieces, with for each rooks, knights, and bishops. Pawns come in 2 varieties: east bound and west bound. Two new pieces have been added, the Princess who moves like a queen but only up to 3 steps and the prince who moves like a queen for two steps OR makes a knight's move.
