Overview
Aero the Acro-Bat: Rascal Rival Revenge is an enhanced remake of the classic 1993 1D platformer, specifically redesigned for the Game Boy Advance.
The story follows the evil industrialist Edgar Ektor, who has sabotaged the World of Amusement Circus and Funpark, kidnapping all the performers—including Aero's girlfriend, Ariel. Armed with his acrobatic skills, power drills, and magic stars, the circus’s star performer Aero the Acro-Bat must complete challenging objectives across various circus, theme park, and horror-themed stages to halt Ektor’s maniacal plot and rescue his friends.
As a remake, this version introduces completely overhauled, more vibrant character sprites and background art tailored for handheld screens, modified level designs, and fine-tuned controls. It also includes an all-new comic book-style introductory cinematic and a built-in battery backup system for saving progress, addressing the lack of a save feature found in the original SNES and Genesis releases.
