Overview
One Piece: Unlimited World R is an action game based on the Japanese anime and manga series One Piece by Eiichiro Oda. It follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Strawhat pirate crew as they take on a new adventure unique to the game, all the while facing off against familiar faces from the anime and manga. These include Dracule Mihawk and Boa Hancock of the Shichibukai, Smoker and Tashigi of the Marines, and mysterious newcomer Patrick Redfield. Additionally, some allies to the Strawhats also make playable appearances, such as Portgas D. Ace and Trafalgar Law. Although it boasts an original story, Unlimited World R borrows much of its gameplay from its predecessor, Unlimited Cruise SP. The core elements of battling and adventuring are retained, with changes coming in the form of a new button layout and the ability to both battle and adventure with a team of companions. The ability to guard and counter has also been added, and the SP gauge for special moves has been altered so that it must be charged instead of depleted.
