Overview

Dame-12 is sometimes and places called checkers. Checkers is an old board game that is played on a board usually consisting of 64 alternating white and black fields by two players with 12 pieces each. The players move their stones diagonally forward one space on each of the black spaces. An opponent standing in the way can or must (depending on the rules) be defeated by jumping over them. As soon as a stone reaches the opponent's baseline, it becomes a queen (double stone) and can move and capture forwards and backwards on the black rows of fields (even across several fields). The winner is the person who has taken all of the opponent's stones away.
