The Witch's Revenge

The old woman was gathering herbs in her garden. The sun was shining, birds were singing and her cottage never looked so beautiful. She would have been happy only for one thing. She knew she was being watched! She looked over at the bushes and gave an evil smile. Tomorrow would be their last day in this world!

Jaric, Mordric, Warth and Esteron were watching the witch from behind the bushes and agreed to meet there again the next morning at sunrise to have a look inside her cottage.

The witch gazed through her crystal ball. So they would be meeting tomorrow by the bushes. Well, in that case she had better prepare a surprise party!

The next morning Warth arrived first and looked about anxiously. He hated waiting in the bushes alone - not that he'd admit that to the others of course! The witch took out her wand, pointed it at herself and muttered an incantation. A minute later she was the very image of Jaric! "Who's that?", said Warth. "Relax, it's only me", said Jaric. Suddenly Warth heard a whizzing sound behind him. A second later he felt something like a wall hitting the back of his head. He fell to the ground unconscious.

One by one the others came only to have the same thing happen to them as Warth. The witch dragged each of the guys down to her cellar and tied them up. She took some chalk and began drawing a pentagram around them. When this was finished she lit some candles around the pentagram. The witch began chanting some strange words. The candles began to flicker and a strange humming noise began. Different shades of light filled the room and the cellar window flew open. Minutes later all that was left in the pentagram was several pieces of rope...
