Overview

Enter the land of Xeen, a mythical place ruled by two villainous overlords. Solve many quests and puzzles as you attempt to unravel the secrets of the World of Xeen. This special version of the game is really two games (Clouds of Xeen and Darkside of Xeen) rolled into one, with two differences: One, your characters are able to travel from one game to the other, doubling the size of the world available for exploration. Two, CD-ROM technology has made possible the use of digitized speech in all places that call for it. Clouds of Xeen is the fourth installment in the Might and Magic series, and a follow-up to Isles of Terra. It utilizes the same graphics and interface as its predecessor, and is generally very similar to it in structure and gameplay. Among new features is the possibility to keep notes recording quests and important locations in the game, a separate inventory section for quest items, and two difficulty levels. Darkside of Xeen is the fifth installment of the Might and Magic, a direct sequel to Clouds of Xeen, and a completion of the overarching story arc that started in the first game. The game uses the same engine and interface as Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra, and is nearly identical to its immediate predecessor gameplay-wise. Compared to earlier games, it has a darker and somewhat more bizarre setting, and dungeon exploration involves more puzzle-solving. It is also more plot-focused and has a larger number of cutscenes.
