Wings 2 is a multiplayer "cave-flyer" shooter. Featuring physics-based gameplay and destructible terrain in a side-view, scrolling parallax environment, the game's basic gameplay involves two to four players flying triangular Thrust-style ships that can rotate, thrust and fire, attempting to destroy the other players' ships. Ships can equip up to four different types of weapons, chosen during match setup. While Wings 2 is primarily a multiplayer game, it does feature a single-player practice mode against AI opponents. The game was originally released as shareware, with registration is required to play TCP/IP games, but the developer has made the full game available for free download since 2008. It can be played split-screen, via LAN, or over the Internet.
