Chariot Race

Chariot Race is a 1 - 2 player arcade game for the VIC-20.

Step back in time 2 millennia when crowds of 250,000 flocked to Circus Maximus to witness the great chariot races. Amid the noise and dust, the four teams of Red, White, Green, and Blue, thunder around the course in a perilous bid for fame and fortune.

Each player controls a chariot that can accelerate, decelerate, or move left and right. Each player is awarded points for how fast and far they travel. Other chariots block the track, and these can be pushed sideways into barricades at the edges. The player's chariot can be destroyed by running into the back of another chariot or into the barricades at the edge of the screen. If the player travels too slowly, fireballs begin to rain down onto the track.
