Overview
Loco-Motion is an action puzzle game in which the player guides a continuously moving locomotive across a railway assembled from sliding track panels. The playfield consists of a grid with one empty space, allowing adjacent panels to be shifted into the gap and the railway to be rearranged while the train is in motion. A highlighted line indicates the locomotive’s projected route, while an accelerator button makes it travel more quickly.
The objective is to direct the locomotive to the stations positioned around the edge of the playfield and collect their waiting passengers. One station at a time may display a decreasing bonus value, awarding the remaining points if it is reached before the counter expires. If the counter reaches zero, the station may be destroyed or an enemy Crazy Train may enter the railway. A stage is completed after the passengers at all remaining stations have been collected, with an additional bonus awarded for clearing every station before any are destroyed.
