Silviana

A fun little disk-based action-RPG for the MSX2 similar to the Ys series.

Silviana is a cheerful girl living on a hill with her single mother. Upon her mother falling ill to an unknown condition and hearing rumor of a doctor Doppel having a cure-all medicine, she goes to ask him for help. Doppel has the medicine, but before he can give it out, he sends Silviana out to bring back his 8 treasures stolen by monsters.

This is an action game with some RPG elements. The world view highly resembles Zelda with one fixed screen at a time, scrolling to the next when you reach the edge. The game has a bump combat system borrowed from Ys, including the directional damage effect. The game does not have a leveling system. Instead, Silviana's attack and defense improve by accumulating money to buy better weapons and armors, and like Zelda, her health bar is expanded by finding hearts.
