Overview
Dance Dance Revolution 2ndMix with beatmania IIDX Club Version is a cooperative arcade music game that links two different rhythm game systems. The setup connects a Dance Dance Revolution 2ndMix cabinet with a beatmania IIDX Club Version cabinet, allowing players on both machines to perform together. The IIDX side controls the song selection, and both games run the same track simultaneously, representing a shared club performance experience between DJs and dancers.
The game supports up to four players, with as many as two participants on each linked cabinet. The IIDX players perform on a seven-key controller with a turntable, while the DDR players step on the dance pad in time with the same song.
Each song is chosen by the IIDX players and then played on both machines. On the DDR side, only one difficulty level is available per song, though there is an alternate step chart for Doubles mode. If any player fails the song, gameplay continues as long as at least one participant is still performing successfully.
This version introduces Vivid mode, a visual feature that changes arrow colours on the DDR screen according to their placement in the musical measure, improving timing recognition. The song list consists of thirteen tracks taken from beatmania IIDX Club Version, replacing the standard DDR 2ndMix song lineup.
