Overview
Champion Super II (often stylised as Champion Super 2) is a classic Italian video poker game originally released on arcade cabinets in January 1999. Operating on specialized JAMMA-compatible boards, it became a staple of European bar and arcade gambling culture in the late '90s and early 2000s.
The game functions as a standard "draw poker" machine with highly customisable arcade system limits and payout logic:
• The Draw: Players place a bet, are dealt five cards on a CRT raster display, and choose which cards to "Hold". Pressing draw replaces the unheld cards to build the final poker hand.
• Winning Hands (Italian Interface): The software typically features Italian hand rankings on its payout matrix:
• Cinque Jokers (Five Jokers / Five of a Kind)
• Scala Max / Scala Min (Royal Flush / Straight Flush)
• 5 Di Un Tipo (Five of a Kind without wildcards)
• 4 Di Un Tipo (Four of a Kind)
• Iris + Coppia (Full House / Three of a kind + a pair)
• Flush (Flush), Scala (Straight), 3 Di Un Tipo (Three of a Kind), and Coppie (Pairs).
• Fever & Flush Bonuses: The machine features special gameplay modes like "Fever" and "Flush" which trigger higher payout rates or special multipliers under certain bet thresholds.
• Double-Up (W-UP Bonus): After a winning hand, players can enter a high-risk gamble feature against a rapid timer to try and double or split their current score winnings.
