400 Miles

Overview

400 Miles (originally released in Italy as 400 Miglia) is an incredibly rare, electro-mechanical projection driving arcade machine manufactured by Model Racing in 1976. Rather than using a traditional video screen, this pioneering racing cabinet used a unique internal projection system with revolving acetate artwork to display its background. Because it pre-dates the digital video game boom, it is considered a highly prized piece of early arcade history with only a handful of working units known to exist worldwide today.

Single-player, top-down perspective automobile racing where the player controls a formula-style car using a steering wheel and a 4-speed sequential gear shifter.
