Overview

Hexion is a variant of the falling block puzzle game Hextris which in turn is a variant of Tetris that uses shapes made of hexagons instead of the usual tetraminoes. The aim of the game is still to align the falling blocks so that lines are created. They are then removed and points are earned. As the game goes on the level increases which leads to faster falling blocks. The game ends when blocks reach the top but the continue option allows the player to keep playing on the same level but with the score being reset. In addition to the normal mode there are three additional game modes with their own playing fields. There is one that is extra wide, one that is extra long and one that is diagonally shaped as a slash. There are also three multiplayer modes for two players. There is a normal mode and a battle mode that both are played in split screen and there is also a co-op mode where the players share a wide playing field.
