Overview

Sotsugyou II: Neo Generation is a life simulation game were the player takes the role of a new teacher at the Seiko Private Girls School who is put in charge of a classroom of five students. You determine their class schedules, do guidance counseling, interfere with their weekend plans, and occasionally take to the streets to make sure they're not getting into trouble. Each of the girls has their own individual personality and problems, and the choices you make will determine whether they graduate from high school, what they do with their lives afterward, and whether or not they wind up hating your guts. Get them all into top colleges and your boss will praise your genius. If they all flunk or wind up wanting to marry you, you'll obviously be fired. Despite what common sense and knowledge of the Japanese psyche might lead you to believe, this is not an adult (or hentai) game and there's no nudity and only an average amount of anime sexploitation. The game is a sequel to Sotsugyou: Graduation developed by Headroom and was originally released on the PC-98 in 1994 before being ported to a number of other systems. Neo Generation was localized into English by Mixx Entertainment in 1997 where it was renamed to simply "Graduation" and released for Windows 95 computers. The title was advertised as "The first anime game to hit American shores!!!" and was sold exclusively through online retailers. However, Graduation was a commercial failure and Mixx later renamed their company to Tokyopop where they focused on publishing manga and anime.
