Overview
Jangou is a classic Japanese arcade mahjong game released in 1983 by the prominent arcade developer Nichibutsu (Nihon Bussan).
As one of the pioneers of the digital mahjong genre in Japanese amusement arcades, Nichibutsu designed Jangou as a tactical, single-player tile-matching game against artificial intelligence opponents. It became a major commercial release for the company and laid the groundwork for a long series of popular arcade sequels, spin-offs, and ports.
