Overview

Sega are the undisputed masters of the arcade game; the brains behind Sonic and Tails. Despite having stepped out of the home console market, Sega remains a major player in the video game industry, with arcade machines at the heart of its business. This epic twin seat driving game offers a realistic, competitive experience, as two petrolheads battle it out behind the wheel. Showdown is a full octane game that takes in breathtaking scenery based on real life locations in the USA and Japan, blended with classic cars with tons of character. From pick-up trucks to funeral hearses, the handling on this machine is spectacular, and it gives the players a real connection with the events on screen. Each gamer will have to jump, swerve, overtake and find new routes in order to come out on top of their opponents. In Race Off mode, drivers are free to go where they like; Demolition mode changes all that, and players have to destroy opponents' vehicles before they come back with a vengeance. In Knockout mode, speed is the key element: it's a no-rules joyride to the chequered flag. Crossroads takes drivers through a series of intersections; one poses the very real risk of being run right off the circuit. This machine has integrated 42" LCD monitors for immersive play, plus an in-game radio station. One twin machine can be linked to another for four-player fun.
