Overview
The Joe Montana II: Sports Talk Football arcade machine is not a traditional standalone arcade cabinet, but rather a specialized release for the Sega Mega-Tech arcade system. Released by Sega in 1991, this hardware allowed arcade operators to host home Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) games in an arcade environment.
Instead of putting standard home cartridges into the cabinet, the Mega-Tech system used proprietary, inverted-edged PCBs configured explicitly for arcade operation. Players paid for time rather than lives or credits, allowing them to play the game exactly as they would at home until their time ran out.
