Year Walk

Overview

Year Walk is an ancient Swedish tradition, with the purpose of discovering what will happen the following year. In this game the player makes his own Year Walk while exploring the dark woods of Sweden in the 19th century. On the way many mysteries and magical creatures from Swedish folklore are encountered. Year Walk is a first-person adventure game with some horror elements. Navigating around in the game involves swiping or moving up, down, left and right where permitted. Besides adventure elements, progress in the game also involves solving several puzzles where clues in the environment need to be interpreted. The PC version is based on the original mobile game, but contains a map to make navigation easier, updated art, new and revised puzzles with different solutions, and an integrated encyclopedia about the mysterious myths and creatures encountered in the game. It also introduces a system where hints to the puzzles can be gradually unlocked from inside the game, but without revealing the entire solution. There are different endings to the game and puzzles that are optional. Certain game elements can only be found or unlocked during a second playthrough.
