Kamaitachi no Yoru: Rinne Saisei

Overview

Tooru and his girlfriend Mari are spending a pleasant winter vacation at Spur, a ski resort in the mountains. After dinner one night, a note is discovered hinting that someone is to die at midnight, which causes panic among the guests and staff at the lodge. With a violent blizzard occurring outside, and no way of escaping, Tooru, Mari, and the rest of Spur's occupants quickly find themselves drawn into a dramatic whodunit mystery, sprawling into a struggle to make it through the entire night alive...

Kamaitachi no Yoru: Rinne Saisei is a remake of the 1994 SNES murder mystery sound novel by Spike Chunsoft. It is particularly notable compared to previous versions for including full voice acting for all characters, as well as a dramatically different new art style that replaces the silhouettes and photographic backgrounds from the original with anime-style art. It also contains a new bonus scenario, written especially for the remake by Ryuukishi07, creator of the famous Higurashi: When They Cry series.
