Overview

Munch Mobile (Joyful Road in Japan) is an arcade racing game released by SNK in 1983. The game was released by Centuri in North America. Munch Mobile/Joyful Road is an arcade racing game viewed from a top-down perspective. The game automatically scrolls forward, and the player has to keep the car on the road with the aim of reaching a garage at the far end of the road. The car has a large hand that protrudes out of the side windows that the player uses to collect various objects lying along the route. Collecting fruit leads to bonus points, while gas containers give extra fuel to the car. After eating a fruit, its residue can be disposed of in trash cans for extra points. When crossing a river, it's also possible to catch fish. Bushes and trees have to be avoided since they injure and make the hand unusable for a brief moment. Lives are lost when hitting the sides of the road or obstacles such as opposing cars or running out of fuel.
