Overview
Kirameki Star Road is a Japanese arcade music trivia and idol-raising game released by Taito in 1997. Operating on the Taito F3 arcade hardware system, it uniquely blends the aesthetic of "talent management" simulation games with classic intro quiz mechanics.
Players choose from three different average girls—often described as a nerd, a popular girl, and the girl next door—and guide them on a path toward musical stardom.
Progression is built around trivia. Players must quickly recognize synthesized musical tracks, anime theme songs, and classic tunes played by the arcade board's sound system to select the correct multiple-choice answers.
