Overview
Knights of Valour: Super Heroes Plus (also known as Sangoku Senki Super Heroes Plus in Japan or Sanguo Zhan Ji Luanshi Xiaoxiong in Asia) is a 2004 2.5D weapon-based side-scrolling beat 'em up arcade game developed by International Games System (IGS). Running on the iconic IGS PolyGame Master (PGM) arcade hardware platform, it serves as an enhanced upgrade to the original 1999 Knights of Valour and Super Heroes editions, delivering a significantly deeper roster, refined combos, and reworked mechanics.
The game is loosely based on the classic 14th-century Chinese historical novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Setting its stage around the decline of the Han Dynasty, the plot kicks off with the warlord Sun Quan kidnapping the infant Adou, forcing the legendary generals of Shu to fight their way through hordes of enemy forces and mythical boss encounters to rescue him.
