Master Merlin

Overview

Master Merlin is an electronic puzzle device shaped like a wand, designed as a sequel to Parker Brothers’ earlier Merlin – The Electronic Wizard. It presents a series of self-contained logic and memory games operated through ten numbered buttons and lighted indicators. The player’s goal varies by mode: solving sequences, reproducing patterns, or outmaneuvering the computer’s responses. Depending on the selected game, the player may:

- repeat sequences of lights and tones (Echo)

- solve pattern-based puzzles (Magic Square, Checkers, Hit or Miss) or

- challenge the device’s timing and logic tests (Mindbender, Secret Number, etc.).

Input is entirely by pressing numbered keys; feedback is shown through light combinations and musical tones. Each game has distinct winning conditions, such as matching a target pattern or clearing the board of lights. The system signals completion through light flashes and a victory tune, then resets for a new session.
