Overview

God’s Playing Field is a sandbox arcade flash game that was developed by MercuryLime and released on January 15, 2007. In God’s Playing Field, the player gains access to God’s computer after he falls asleep while talking to him and finds a game on the desktop of the same name. Upon launching it, this is where the gameplay begins. The player initially has to choose how many enemies they want to appear on screen at once and are told to beware of lag. The game will then start and the player will be presented with a field with various people and cars walking from one side of the screen to the other and back again. The player’s main objective is to kill all of these beings, which will earn them money and allow them to purchase more advanced weapons. The player starts off with just a giant fist but must work their way towards earning $100,000 in order to purchase the nuke. After the player uses the nuke, the game will end and God will have woken up and discovered the player’s character using their computer. The player’s character distracts him and makes him go down an elevator so that they can continue playing the game. After this, freestyle mode will be unlocked, in which the player immediately has access to all weapons, can choose from six custom backgrounds and can unlock secrets.
