First Eagles: The Great War 1918

Overview

First Eagles: The Great War 1918 is the fourth release from Third Wire Productions and the first non-jet based game.

Find yourself in a flying machine made of wood, wire and canvass as you soar with your squadron over the fields of France in the early part of the century. You depart your field and climb to hunt the "Hun". The wind whips in your face, all of your senses are alive, the smell of the air, the engine exhaust, the sounds of flight from the creaking of the aircraft. You can hear the sounds of battle as you near the front and see the troops entrenched in the mud.

Suddenly above you you see a flash of something and while staring into the sun, you see the enemy. He is upon you and bullets are snapping through your fragile machine. Wingmen and enemy spiral down in flames, no ejection seats or even parachutes here. You fight or die.

Find yourself in any of the following player flyable machines - Fokker D.VII, Fokker D.VIIF, R.A.F. S.E.5a as well as the SPAD XIII C.1. AI pilots will take to the skies in Salmson 2 A.2, Albatros D.Va and the D.F.W. C.V.
